Ronnie Coleman

Ronnie Coleman full name Ronald Dean Coleman ) was born on May 13, 1964 in Monroe, Louisiana, USA and he is an American bodybuilder and an eight-time Mr. Olympia title winner. He is regarded as the current leading jockey of the sport, and has won the Mr. Olympia contest every year from 1998 to 2005 Ronnie Coleman is an affiliate of the International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB).

Alongside his eight Olympia wins as a professional bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman holds the record for most wins as an IFBB professional with 25 wins Ronnie Coleman broke the previous record (held by Vince Taylor at 22 wins) in Moscow on November 5th, 2004.

Ronnie Coleman graduated Cum Laude from Grambling State University (GSU) in 1989 with a degree in accounting. While attending Coleman also played football with the GSU Tigers under famous coach Eddie Robinson. After graduation Ronnie Coleman became a police officer. He continues to work as a reserve officer in Texas.

Ronnie Coleman who has won more professional titles than any other bodybuilder, supportsthe Inner City Games, an organization that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger co-founded in 1991. He was the recipient of the 2001 Admiral in the Texas Navy Certificate Award from Texas Governor Rick Perry for outstanding achievements in bodybuilding and the promotion of physical fitness.

His training consists of simple compound movements with mostly free weights and some powerlifting; he rarely uses machines. He typically trains 6 days a week in the on-season. Per message board posts at prosource.net where Ronnie Coleman regularly contributes, he reveals that he roughly spends 75 minutes during his workout sessions and also does 2-4 hours (depending on season) of low-impact cardiovascular treadmill exercise per day at 3mph. A large part of his diet consists of chicken which is necessary for him to get the amount of protein he needs.

Currently Ronnie Coleman takes in roughly 400 grams of protein a day, down from 600 grams of protein a day which he claimed made him look too heavy around the midsection. Aside from protein supplementation Ronnie Coleman(as of February 2006) takes various supplements which include Nitrix, CellMass, NO Explode, and Axis-HT along with vitamins. There has been no public mention by Ronnie on whether or not he utilizes steroids, but most in the bodybuilding world feel that it is an absolute certainty due to his unparalled mass and incredibly low fat percentage.

In summary Ronnie Coleman has a reputation for being among the strongest and most disciplined bodybuilders in the sport today, although he routinely takes three months off after Mr. Olympia to recuperate his body.
