Chris Evans was born on June, 13 1981 in Sudbury, Massachusetts. to parents Robert Evans (dentist) and Lisa Evans (dancer). The second child of the family, Chris has three siblings, younger sister Shanna and older sister Carly, as well as younger brother Scott.
Being encouraged by sister Carly to give acting a try
Chris Evans performed in local productions of plays like A Midsummer Nights Dreams and A Wrinkle in Time. After finishing high school, Evans packed for New York and joined a summer acting class. Shortly after, he landed on television, playing bit parts on the series Boston Public and The Fugitive.
A motion picture role subsequently arrived in 2000. Evans' big screen debut was playing the supporting role of Judd in James Allen Bradley's family drama, The Newcomers, in which he shared the screen with Christopher and Matt McCoy. Meanwhile, he was seen on the small screen playing character Cary Baston in the short-lived drama comedy series, Opposite Sex.
Portraying all-American football star Jake Wyler, who makes a foolish bet to turn ugly duckling Janey (Chyler Leigh) into a prom queen, was Evans' breakout role. He played the memorable role in Joel Gallen's comedy, Not Another Teen Movie in 2001. In the next year, he was cast as Adam in Michael M. Robin's TV movie, Fox's drama mystery Eastwick (alongside Jonathan Bennett and Marcia Cross) and starred in Eric Ogden's short drama film, The Paper Boy (2003).
Another significant role came in 2004 when Brian Robbins handed him the role of Kyle, in his crime-comedy, The Perfect Score (opposite Erika Christensen). He then starred as Ryan in David R. Ellis' crime action Cellular (starring
Kim Basinger.
Evans had a leading role in “The Perfect Score,” playing Kyle, a student who persuades five others to help him steal an upcoming SAT test in order to up his score and get in to the college of his choice. The film was produced by Tollin/Robbins and also stars Erika Christensen and
Scarlett Johansson.
Evans starred in the independent films, “Fierce People,” opposite Diane Lane and Donald Sutherland; and in “The Orphan King” opposite Alexis Bledel. He co-starred in the comedy “Not Another Teen Movie.”
Evans studied dance and theatre under the direction of his teacher/mother. He soon found his way onto the stage appearing in professional theatre productions of "Sunday Visitors" at the Boston Playwrights Theatre and the EMACT Festival as well as a Speak Previews production of “Suckers” in Boston.
Evans grew up near Boston, Massachusetts. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
