Chad Michael Murray was born 24 august, 1981 in Buffalo, New York.
Murray gave his family a taste of his talent early on when the assured young entertainer kept them in stitches with a series of amusing skits and songs. A career in high-school athletics was cut short when the gridiron runner was sidelined with a serious football injury, and it was during his recovery that a nurse persuaded Murray to pursue a career in modeling.
Soon after he arrived, Chad appeared in several guest-starring television roles including an episode of "Diagnosis Murder." Then he got the call he'd been hoping for. The WB's "Gilmore Girls" was casting for the role of Tristan DuGrey. They were looking for someone who was likable and charismatic but with an edgy side, and someone who had that certain "IT" quality. Chad was all that plus he had the perfect physical characteristics that the show's writers had in mind. The teenager won the role and has since made the character his own.
In the movies, Murray was the young suitor who falls for
Lindsay Lohan in Freaky Friday, and the princely Austin opposite Hilary Duff in A Cinderella Story in 2004. The same year he began filming House of Wax, a remake of the 1953 horror classic, with co-star
Paris Hilton.
In April 2005, Murray wed his One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush in Santa Monica, California. The couple announced their separation on September 26 after only five months of marriage. The marriage ended amid rumors of infidelity in the tabloids.
